Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, with Indian heritage, Ria experienced a culturally rich and diverse upbringing that cultivated her appreciation for the arts. She formally decided to take singing lessons at the age of 8. Ria’s passion for dance also flourished, with her speciality being in hip-hop and street styles.
Ria continued to hone her skills at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, learning how to infuse sensitivity and vulnerability into honest storytelling.
She currently works for two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway production company Fran Kirmser LLC and Bessie Award-nominated J CHEN PROJECT. Her most notable credits include Sandy Dumbrowski (Grease), Darlene Purvis (Honky Tonk Angels), and Miranda (The Tempest) in the Weathervane Theatre’s 60th season. She is forever grateful to keep doing what she loves!
